Basal cell carcinoma

Basal cell carcinoma
Basal cell carcinoma (rodent ulcer) is the most common malignant tumor of the eyelids, occurring most frequently on the inner portion of the lower eyelid, followed by the medial canthus, upper eyelid, and lateral canthus. Wide excision with histopathological examination to ensure free borders is the rule. Such an extensive lesion requires exenteration with bone removal and even extirpation of dura followed by reconstruction by a team of surgeons.
