Keratoconjunctivitis Sicca, Dry Eye With Dry Spot
After staining of the tearfilm with fluoresceine the patient is asked to keep his eye open. With the blue light of the slitlamp (cobalt filter) one records the time it takes for a black area to develop, the time for the continuous tearfilm to break open. This picture shows a vertically oriented linear dark area (arrow), corresponding to the dry area.
