Homonymous Hemianopia, Occipital Lobe, Homonymous Hemianopic Scotoma
The scotomatous defects seen in this Goldmann visual field do not respect the vertical meridian. Nevertheless, several features unequivocally identify them as homonymous hemianopic scotomas: 1) they occupy corresponding halves of the visual field (i.e., the temporal hemifield OD and the nasal hemifield OS); 2) their locations in the field correspond exactly; and 3) their size and shape are such that they are virtually superimposable. This patient suffered closed head trauma associated with a contrecoup injury of the left occipital lobe.
