Orbital cellulitis, Left

Orbit -> Infections
This young boy developed pain and tenderness, left eye, two days back which rapidly increased in severity. On examination, left lids were tense due to chemosis / swelling. There was conjunctival congestion/chemosis and proptosis of left eye. Slight chin elevation, raised eyebrows and wrinkles on forehead due to frontalis overaction, are to compensate for the ptosis produced by swollen lid. Diagnosis of left orbital cellulitis was made and antibiotics were started intravenously. The condition resolved in a few days.
