Hordeolum, External and Chalazion
The lower lid shows painful swelling and redness caused by an acute inflammation of the glands associated with the lash follicles (hordeolum externum). The upper lid has a painfree swelling caused by a chronic irritation of the Meibomian gland on the inside of the lid (chalazion).
