Valsalva Retinopathy

Valsalva Retinopathy
With sudden increases in blood venous pressure Valsalva maneuver, blunt compression trauma to the thorax) perifoveolar capillaries burst and blood lifted the internal limiting membrane off. In contrast to deeper hemorrhages and to preretinal hemorrhages this blood pool shows sharp boundaries. This is not a pre-retinal hemorrhage. The process is completely reversible.
