Corneal infiltrate, Immune Ring of Wessely
Central corneal infiltrate (following a stick injury) is surrounded by an opaque ring with a clear zone in between the two. This ring is the result of a non-specific immune complex deposition in the stroma and occurs with acanthamoeba, herpes, pseudomonas and fungus infection. Here scrapings of the infiltrate area were positive for fungus.
