Bitemporal Hemianopia, Goldmann Visual Field

Bitemporal Hemianopia, Goldmann Visual Field
Incomplete bitemporal hemianopia, as demonstrated on a Goldmann visual field. When bitemporal field loss is due to an underlying tumor, the documented field defects are typically incomplete, as in the present case. This is because one or more symptoms (e.g., headache, endocrine disturbances, or subjective visual loss) usually bring the patient to medical attention before the damage to decussating fibers in the optic chiasm becomes absolute.
