Sebaceous Gland Carcinoma of the Lid , Pagetoid Change
The globular thickening of the upper lid margin represents the sebaceous gland tumor (often mistaken for a chalazion). Here tumor cells have invaded the epithelium of conjunctiva and cornea (pagetoid change), simulating a kerato-conjunctivitis (pseudokeratoconjunctivitis). The conjunctiva is hyperemic and the cornea shows an irregular reflex and neovascularization.
