Myelinated Nerve Fibers
White myelinated nerve fibers surround the optic disc and form a feathery swath along the inferotemporal arcade. The underlying retinal vessels and a portion of the optic disc are obscured. Myelinated nerve fibers can easily be differentiated from yellow exudate by noting the feathery peripheral border.
