Nerve Fiber Layer in Glaucoma, OCT
Examination of the Retina around the optic nerve head with OCT reveals a slightly varying thicknesss and a smooth surface. In advanced glaucoma with loss of nerve fibers the retina is thinner than normal, shows loss of the high reflectivity in the ganglien cell layer and irregular thinning of the nerve fiber layer which results inanirregular surface.
