Bitemporal Hemianopia

Bitemporal Hemianopia
At first glance, this Goldmann visual field with its generally full peripheral isopters doesn’t appear to be a bitemporal hemianopia. However, the smaller isopters disclose bilateral paracentral defects that are strictly temporal in location and that border on the vertical meridian. The implications of a paracentral bitemporal hemianopia are identical to those of a more obvious bitemporal defect: 1) chiasmal localization, and 2) high likelihood of an intracranial tumor.
