Avulsion of Optic Nerve Head

Avulsion of Optic Nerve Head
Can occur after sharp but also after blunt trauma to the eye. Multiple hemorrhages around the nerve head and edema of the peripapillary retina. Note the central depression which represents the posterior movement of the torn lamina cribosa.
