Vernal Keratoconjunctivitis, Pseudogerontoxon and Shield Ulcer
This 7 year old girl had giant papillary conjunctivitis, and history of atopy. A small pseudogerontoxon( segmental arcus lipoides) is seen in the superior cornea and centrally a shield ulcer. This is an indolent superficial ulceration with thickened edges and mucous deposits. In this picture, taken 24 hours after treatment with steroids the ulcer has become smaller than the thickened former edge of the ulcer(highlighted area of the picture).
