Hypertrophic Osteoarthropathy (HOA) (Pachydermoperiostitis)
This disease can be primary (Touraine-Solente-Gole Syndrome) and is then autosomal dominant or secondary where it accompanies a variety of disorders (ie. malignancies). There is thickening of the skin (seen here in the lids) and clubbing of the fingers due to proliferation of new soft and bone tissue. The secondary form is accompnied by considerable pain.
