Optic Disc Hypoplasia Associated with Maternal Diabetes

Optic Disc Hypoplasia Associated with Maternal Diabetes
The optic disc is small and appears truncated superiorly. Subtle superior pallor is also present. The patient was found to have a corresponding incomplete inferior altitudinal visual field defect. This constellation of findings, referred to as superior segmental optic nerve hypoplasia, can occur in the offspring of diabetic mothers.
