Sarcoid, Granuloma of the Conjunctiva
Same patient. This fleshy, yellowish conjunctival lesion was biopsied, revealing non-caseating granulomata. A subsequent systemic work-up confirmed a diagnosis of sarcoidosis. Sarcoid optic neuritis can be either acute or subacute; in patients with a subacute presentation, visual loss and pain may evolve over weeks to months.
