Pseudophakia with Macrophages after Silicone Oil Tamponade

Pseudophakia with Macrophages after Silicone Oil Tamponade
Ballooned-up macrophages with silicone spheres in their cytoplasm on the anterior surface of the intraocular lens. The smaller cells are macrophages of normal sizes. The PMMA IOL was implanted in combination with vitreoretinal surgery and silicone oil tamponade after removal of intraocular steel foreign body. The eye was suffering from siderosis.
