Acute dacryocystitis with pointing lacrimal sac abscess
Acute inflammation of lacrimal sac requires systemic antibiotics and incision drainage. Once the acute stage is over, dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) is performed. If not treated properly, it can lead to mucocele, fistula formation, and/ or orbital cellulitis.
